Following her stint as a model and songwriter, she decided to sign with Warner Bros Records and release her debut album entitled "Dua Lipa" in the year 2017. Her parents are Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin Lipa. The maternal grandparents of her are Bosnian. You can also trace Lipa's ancestry to Peja within Kosovo. Her grandparents were both historians and professors. There are two sisters, Rina and Gjin. Lipa was taught guitar playing and sing from her dad Oda. Oda is the singer/guitarist who leads the Kosovan-rock band Oda.
